English Transliteration Arabic
In the Name of Allah, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate Bismillaahir rahmaanir raheem بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
O Allah, O He whom the depiction of the describers fails to describe! Al-laahum-ma yaa mal-laa yas'ifuhoo naa'-tul-waas'ifeen اللَّهُمَّ  يَا مَن لا يَصِفُهُ نَعْتُ الْوَاصِفِينَ
O He beyond whom passes not the hope of the hopers! Wa yaa mal-laa yujaawizuhoo rajaaa-ur-raajeen وَيَا مَن لا يُجَاوِزُهُ رَجَاءُ الرَّاجِينَ
O He with whom is not lost the wage of the good-doers! Wa yaa mal-laa yaz''eeu' laday-heee aj-rul-muh'-sineen وَيَا مَن لا يَضِيعُ لَديْهِ أَجْرُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
O He who is the ultimate object of the fear of the worshipers! Wa yaa man huwa muntahaa khaw-fil-a'abideen وَيَا مَنْ هُوَ مُنتَهَى خَوْفِ الْعَابِدِينَ
O He who is the utmost limit of the dread of the god-fearing! Wa yaa man huwa ghaayatu khash-yatil-mut-taqeen وَيَا مَنْ هُوَ غَايَةُ خَشْيَةِ الْمُتَّقِينَ
This is the station of him whom sins have passed from hand to hand Had'aa maqaamu man tadaawalat-hooo ay-deed'-d'unoob هَذَا مَقَامُ مَن تَدَاوَلَتْهُ أَيْدِي الذُّنُوبِ،
Offenses' reins have led him on, wa qaadat-hooo azim-matul-khat'aayaa وَقَادَتْهُ أَزِمَّةُ الْخَطَايَا،
And Satan has gained mastery over him was-tah'-wad'a a'lay-hish-shay-t'aan وَاسْتَحْوَذَ عَلَيْهِ الشَّيْطَانُ
He fell short of what You are commanded through neglect faqas'-s'ara a'm-maaa amar-ta bihee taf-reet'aa فَقَصَّرَ عَمَّا أَمَرْتَ بِهِ تَفْرِيطاً،
And he pursued what You are prohibited in delusion wa taa'at'aa maa nahay-ta a'n-hoo tagh-reeraa وَتَعَاطَى مَا نَهَيْتَ عَنْهُ تَعْزِيراً،
like one ignorant of Your power over him kal-jaahili biqud-ratika a'leeh كَالْجَاهِلِ بِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيْهِ،
or one who denies the bounty of Your beneficence toward him, aw kal-munkiri faz''-la ih'-saanika ilay-h أَوْ كَالْمُنكِرِ فَضْلِ إِحْسَانِكَ إِلَيْهِ
until, when the eye of guidance was opened for him h'at-taaa id'aa anfatah'a lahoo bas'arul-hudaa حَتَّى إِذَا انفَتَحَ لَهُ بَصَرُ الْهُدَي،
And the clouds of blindness were dispelled wa taqash-shaa't a'n-hoo sah'aaa-ibul-a'maa وَتَقَشَّعَتْ عَنهُ سَحَائِبُ العَمَي،
he reckoned that through which he had wronged himself ah'-s'aa maa z'alama bihee naf-sah أَحْصَى مَا ظَلَمَ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ،
And reflected upon that in which he had opposed his Lord wa fak-kara feemaa khaalafa bihee rab-bah وَفَكَّرَ فِيمَا خَالَفَ فِيهِ رَبَّهُ
He saw his vast disobedience as vast faraaa kabeera i's'-yaanihee kabeeran فَرَأَى كَبِيرَ عِصْيَانِهِ كَبِيراً،
And his great opposition as great. wa jaleela mukhaalafatihee jaleelaa وَجَلِيلَ مُخَالَفَتِهِ جَلِيلاً
So he turned to You, hoping in You faaq-bala nah'-waka moo-am-milal-laka فَأَقْبَلَ نَحْوَكَ مُؤَمِّلاً لَّكَ
And ashamed before You mus-tah'-yeeam-mink مُسْتَحْيِياً مِّنكَ،
and he directed his beseeching toward You, having trust in You wa waj-jaha ragh-batahooo ilay-ka thiqatam-bik وَوَجَّهَ رَغْبَتَهُ إِلَيْكَ ثِقَةً بِكَ،
He repaired to You in his longing with certitude faam-maka bit'amai'hee yaqeenaa فَأَمَّكَ بِطَبْعِهِ يَقِيناً،
And he went straight to You in fear with sincerity wa qas'adaka bikhaw-fiheee ikh-laas'aa وَقَصَدَكَ بِخَوْفِهِ إِخْلاَصاً،
His longing was devoid of every object of longing but You, qad khalaa t'amau'hoo min kul-li mat'-mooi'n feehee ghay-rik قَدْ خَلاَ طَمَعُهُ مِن كُلِّ مَطْمُوعٍ فِيهِ غَيْرُكَ،
And his fright departed from every object of fear but You wa af-rakha raw-u'hoo min kul-li mah'-d'oorim-min-hoo siwaak وَأَفْرَجَ رَوْعُهُ مِن كُلِّ مَحْذُورٍ مِّنْهُ سِوَاكَ
So, he stood before You pleading famathala bay-na yaday-ka mutaz''ar-ria'a فَمَثَلَ بَيْنَ يَديْكَ مُتَضَرِّعاً،
his eyes turned toward the ground in humbleness wa gham-maz''a bas'arahooo ilaal-ar-z''i mutakhash-shia'a وَغَمَّضَ بَصَرَهُ إِلىَ الأَرْضِ مُتَخَشِّعاً
his head bowed before Your might in lowliness wa t'aa-t'aa raa-sahoo lii'z-zatika mutad'al-lilaa وَطَأْطَأَ رَأْسَهُ لِعِزَّتِكَ مُتَذَلِّلاً
he revealed to You in meekness those secrets of his which You knowest better than he; wa abath-thaka min sir-rihee maaa anta sa'-lamu bihee min-hoo khuz''ooa'a وَأَبَثَّكَ مِن سِرِّهِ مَا أَنتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنْهُ خُضُوعاً
he numbered for You in humility those sins of his which You countest better than he wa a'd-dada min d'unoobihee maaa anta ah'-s'aa lahaa khushooa'a وَعَدَّدَ مِن ذُنُوبِهِ مَا أَنتَ أَحْصى لَهَا خُشُوعاً
he sought help from You was-taghaatha bika min- وَاسْتَغَاثَ بِكَ مِنْ
before the dreadful into which he has fallen in Your knowledge, a'z'eemi maa waqaa' bihee fee i'l-mik عَظِيمِ مَا وَقَعَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِكَ،
and the ugly which has disgraced him in Your judgment: the sins wa qabeehee maa faz''ah'ahoo fee h'uk-mika وَقَبِيحِ مَا فَضَحَهُ فِي حُكْمِكَ،
whose pleasures have turned their backs and gone min d'unoob ad-barat lad'-d'aatuhaa fad'ahabat- مِن ذُنُوبٍ أَدْبَرَتْ لَذَّاتُهَا فَذَهَبَتْ،
and whose evil consequences have stayed and stuck fast. wa aqaamat tabia'atuhaa falazimat- وَأَقَامَتْ تَبِعَاتُهَا فَلَزِمَتْ
He will not deny Your justice, My God, if You punishest him, laa yunkiru yaaa ilaahee a'd-laka in a'aqab-tah لا يُنكِرُ يَا إِلَهِي عَدْلَكَ إِنْ عَاقَبْتَهُ،
nor will he consider Your pardon great if You pardonest him and hast mercy upon him, wa laa yas-taa'-z'imu a'f-waka in a'faw-ta a'n-hoo wa rah'im-tah وَلا يَسْتَعْصِمُ عَفْوَكَ عَنْهُ إِنْ عَفَوْتَ عَنْهُ وَرَحِمْتَهُ
for You are the Generous Lord for whom the forgiveness of great sins is nothing great! lian-nakar-rab-bul-kareemul-lad'ee laa yataa'az'amuhoo ghuf-raanud'-d'ambil-a'z'eem لأَنَّكَ الرَّبُّ الْكَرِيمُ الَّذِي لا يَتَعَاظَمُهُ غُفْرَانُ الذَّنْبِ الْعَظِيمِ
O Allah, so here I am al-laahum-ma fahaaa ana d'aa اللَّهُمَّ فَهَا أَنَا ذَا
I have come to You obeying Your command qad ji-tuka mut'eea'l-liam-rika قَدْ جِئْتُكَ مُطِيعاً لأَمْرِكَ،
for You commanded supplication feemaaa amar-ta bihee minad-dua'aa-i فِيمَا أَمَرْتَ بِهِ مِنَ الدُّعَاءِ،
And asking the fulfillment of Your promise, for You are promised to respond. You are said: mutanaj-jizaw-waa'-daka feemaa waa't-ta bihee minal-ijaabah id' taqoolu: مُتَنَجِّزاً وَّعْدَكَ فِيمَا وَعَدتَّ بِهِ مِنَ الإِجَابَةِ، إِذْ تَقُولُ:
“Supplicate Me and I will respond to you.” (ud-u'wneee as-tajib lakum) (اُدْعُوني أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ)
O Allah, so bless Muhammad and his Household al-laahum-ma fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalih اللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلهِ
meet me with Your forgiveness just as I have met You with my confession, wa al-qanee bimagh-firatika kamaa laqeetuka biiq-raaree وَالْقَنِي بِمَغْفِرَتِكَ كَمَا لَقِيتُكَ بِإِقْرَارِي
lift me up from the fatal infirmities of sins just as I have let myself down before You, war-faa'-nee a'm-mas'aarii'd'-d'unoobi kamaa waz''aa'-tu laka naf-see
 وَارْفَعْنِي عَن مَّصَاِرعِ الذُّنُوبِ كَمَا وَضَعْتُ لَكَ نَفْسِي
And cover me with Your covering just as You are shown no haste to take vengeance on me! was-tur-nee bisit-rika kamaa taan-nay-tanee a'nlintiqaami min-nee وَاسْتُرْنِي بِسِتْرِكَ كَمَا تَأَنَّيْتَنِي عَنِ الإنتِقَامِ مِنِّي
O Allah, make firm my intention to obey You, al-laahum-ma wa thab-bit fee t'aaa'tika nee-yatee اللَّهُمَّ وَثَبِّتْ فِي طَاعَتِكَ نِيَّتِي
strengthen my insight in worshiping You, wa ah'-kim fee i'baadatika bas'eeratee وَأَحْكِمْ فِي عِبَادَتِكَ بَصِيرَتِي
give me the success of works which will wash away the defilement of offenses, wa waf-fiq-nee minal-aa'-maali limaa tagh-silu bihee danasal-khat'aayaa a'n-nee وَوَفِّقْنِي إِلىَ الأَعْمَاِل مَا تَغْسِلُ بِهِ دَنَسَ الْخَطَايَا عَنِّي
and take me when You takest me in the creed of Your prophet Muhammad (upon him be peace). wa tawaf-fanee a'laa mil-latika wamil-lati nabee-yika muh'am-madin a'lay-his-salaamu id'aa tawaf-fay-tanee وَتَوَفَّنِي عَلَى مِلَّتِكَ وَمِلَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيِهْ السَّلاَمُ إِذَا تَوَفَّيْتَنِي
O Allah, I repent to You in this my station from al-laahum-ma in-neee atoobu ilay-ka fee maqaamee had'aa min اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ فِي مَقَامِي هَذَا مِن
my sins, great and small, kabaaa-iri d'unoobee was'aghaaa-irihaa كَبَائِرِ ذُنُوبِي وَصَغَائِرِهَا،
my evil deeds, inward and outward, wa bawaat'ini say-yi-aatee waz'awaahirihaa وَبَوَاطِنِ سَيِّئَاتِي وَظَوَاهِرِهَا،
my lapses, past and recent, wa sawaalifi zal-laatee wah'awaadithihaa وَسَوَاِلفِ زَلاَّتِي وَحَوَادِثِهَا
with the repentance of one who does not tell himself that he might disobey or taw-bata mal-laa yuh'ad-dithu naf-sahoo bimaa'-s'eeah تَوْبَةَ مَن لا يُحَدِّثُ نَفْسَهُ بِمَعْصِيَةٍ،
secretly think that he might return to an offense. wa laa yuz''-miru ay-yau'wda fee khat'ee-ah وَلا يُضْمِرُ أَن يَّعُودَ فِي خَطِيئَةٍ
You are said, My God, in the firm text of Your Book, that wa qad qul-ta yaaa ilaahee fee muh'-kami kitaabika وَقَدْ قُلْتَ يَا إِلَهِي فِي مُحْكَمِ كِتَابِكَ
You acceptest repentance from Your servants in-naka taq-balut-taw-bata a'n i'baadik إِنَّكَ تَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِكَ
pardonest evil deeds, wa taa'-foo a'nis-say-yi-aat وَتَعْفُو عَنِ السَّيِّئَاتِ
And lovest the repenters wa tuh'ib-but-taw-waabeen وَتُحِبُّ التَّوَّابِينَ
so accept my repentance as You are promised faq-bal taw-batee kamaa waa't-t فَاقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِي كَمَا وَعَدتَّ
pardon my evil deeds as You are guaranteed, waa'-fu a'n say-yi-aatee kamaa z''amint وَاعْفُ عَن سَيِّئَاتِي كَمَا ضَمِنتَ
And make obligatory toward me Your love as You are stipulated! wa aw-jib lee mah'ab-bataka kamaa sharat'-t وَأَوْجِبْ لِي مَحَبَّتَكَ كَمَا شَرَطتَّ
To You, my Lord, belongs wa laka yaa rab وَلَكَ يَا رَبِّ
my stipulation that I will not return to what is disliked by You, shar-t'eee al-laaa au'wda fee mak-roohik شَرْطِي لا أَعُودَ فِي مَكْرُوهِكَ
my guarantee that I will not go back to what You blamest wa z''amaaneee al-laaa ar-jia' fee mad'-moomik وَضَمَاِني لا أَرْجِعَ فِي مَذْمُومِكَ
And my covenant that I will stay away from acts of disobedience to You wa a'h-deee an ah-jura jameea' maa'as'eek وَعَهْدِي أَنْ أَهْجُرَ جَمِيعَ مَعَاصِيكَ
O Allah, You knowest better what I have done, al-laahum-ma in-naka aa'-lamu bimaa a'mil-t اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا عَمِلْتُ
so forgive me what You knowest fagh-fir lee maa a'lim-t فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا عَلِمْتَ
And turn me through Your power to what You lovest! was'-rif-nee biqud-ratika ilaa maaa ah'-bab-t وَاصْرِفْنِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ إِلَى مَا أَحْبَبْتَ
O Allah, counted against me are claims that stay in my memory al-laahum-ma waa'lay-ya tabia'atun qad h'afiz'tuhun اللَّهُمَّ وَعَلَيَّ تَبِعَاتٌ قَدْ حَفِظْتُهُنَّ،
and claims that I have forgotten, wa tabia'atun qad naseetuhun وَتَبِعَاتٌ قَدْ نَسِيتُهُنَّ،
while all of them remain in Your eye that does not sleep wa kul-luhun-na bia'y-nikal-latee laa tanaam وَكُلُّهُنَّ بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِي لا تَنَامُ،
and Your knowledge that does not forget! wa i'l-mikal-lad'ee laa yansaa وَعِلْمِكَ الَّذِي لا يَنْسَى
So, compensate their owners, lighten their load upon me, lift up their weight from me, and preserve me from approaching their like! faa'w-wiz'' min-haaa ah-lahaa wah'-t'ut' a'n-nee wiz-rahaa wa khaf-fif a'n-nee thiq-lahaa
waa'-s'im-nee min an uqaarifa mith-lahaa		 فَعَوِّضْ مِنْهَا أَهْلَهَا، وَاحْطُطْ عَنِّي وِزْرَهَا، وَخَفِّفْ عَنِّي ثِقْلَهَا، وَاعْصِمْنِي مِنْ أَنْ أُقَارِفَ مِثْلَهَا
O Allah, but I can not be faithful to my repentance without Your preservation, al-laahum-ma wa in-nahoo laa wafaaa-a lee bit-taw-bati il-laa bii's'-matik اللَّهُمَّ وَإِنَّهُ لا وَفَاءَ لِي بِالتَّوْبَةِ إِلاَّ بِعِصْمَتِكَ،
nor can I refrain from offenses without Your strength wa laa as-tim-saaka bee a'nil-khat'aayaaa il-laa a'n qoo-watik وَلا اسْتِمْسَاكَ بِي عَنِ الْخَطَايَا إِلاَّ عَن قُوَّتِكَ
So strengthen me with a sufficient strength faqaw-winee biqoo-watin kaafeeah فَقَوِّنِي بِقُوَّةٍ كَافِيَةٍ
And attend to me with a defending preservation! wa tawal-lanee bii's'-matim-maania'h وَتَوَلَّنِي بِعِصْمَةٍ مَّانِعَةٍ
O Allah, if any servant repents to You, al-laahum-ma ay-yumaa a'b-din taaba ilay-ka اللَّهُمَّ أَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ تَابَ إِلَيْكَ
while in Your knowledge of the Unseen he will break his repentance wa huwa fee i'l-mil-ghay-bi i'ndaka faasikhul-litaw-batih وَهُوَ فِي عِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ عِندَكَ فَاسِخً لِّتَوْبَتِهِ،
and return to his sin and offense, wa a'aa-idun fee d'ambihee wakhat'ee-atih وَعَائِدٌ فِي ذَنْبِهِ وَخَطِيئَتِهِ
I seek refuge in You lest I be like that! fa in-nee e au'wd'u bika an akoona kad'alik فَإِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَكُونَ كَذلِكَ
So make this my repentance, a repentance after which I will need no repentance, faj-a'l taw-batee hd'ih taw-batal-laaa ah'-taaju baa'-dahaaa ilaa taw-bah فاجْعَلْ تَوْبَتِي هَذِهِ لا أَحْتَاجُ بَعْدَهَا إِلَى تَوْبَةٍ،
and a repentance which will obligate the erasing of what has gone by and safety in what remains! taw-batam-moojibatal-limah'-wi maa salafa was-salaamati feemaa baqee تَوْبَةً مُّوجِبَةً لِّمَحْوِ مَا سَلَفَ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ فِيمَا بَقِيَ
O Allah, I ask pardon from You for my ignorance, al-laahum-ma in-neee aa'-tad'iru ilay-ka min jah-lee اللَّهُمَ إِنِّي أَعْتَذِرُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ جَهْلِي
And I ask You to disregard my evil acts! wa as-taw-hibuka sooo-a fia'-lee وَأَسْتَوْهِبُكَ سُوءَ فِعْلِي
So join me to the shelter of Your mercy through graciousness faaz''-mum-neee ilaa kanafi rah'-matika tat'aw-wulaa فَاضْمُمْنِي إِلَى كَنَفِ رَحْمَتِكَ تَطَوُّلاً
And cover me with the covering of Your well-being through bounteousness! was-tur-nee bisit-ri a'afeeatika tafaz''-z''ulaa وَاسْتُرْنِي بِسِتْرِ عَافِيَتِكَ تَفَضُّلاً
O Allah, I repent to You from everything opposed to Your will al-laahum-ma wa in-neee atoobu ilay-ka min kul-li maa khaalafa iraadataka اللَّهُمَّ وَإِنّي أَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ مِن كُلِّ مَا خَالَفَ إِرَادَتَكَ،
or far from Your love aw zaala a'm-mah'ab-batik أَوْ زَالَ عَن مَّحَبَّتِكَ،
—the thoughts of my heart, min khat'araati qal-bee مِنْ خَطَرَاتِ قَلْبِي،
the glances of my eye, wa lah'az'aati a'y-nee وَلَحَظَاتِ عَيْنِي،
the tales of my tongue with wa h'ikaayaati lisaanee وَحِكَايَاتِ لِسَانِي،
a repentance through which each bodily part will by itself stay safe from ill consequences with You taw-batan tas-lamu bihaa kul-lu jaarih'atin a'laa h'eeaalihaa min tabia'atika تَوْبَةً تَسْلَمُ بِهَا كُلُّ جَارِحَةٍ عَلَى حِيَاِلهَا مِن تَبِعَاتِكَ
and remain secure from Your painful penalties feared by transgressors! wa taa-manu mim-maa yakhaaful-mua'-tadoona min sleemi sat'awaatik وَتَأْمَنُ مِمَّا يَخَافُ الْمُعْتَدُونَ مِنْ أَلِيمِ سَطَوَاتِكَ
O Allah, so have mercy on my being alone before You, al-laahum-ma far-h'am wah'-datee bay-na yaday-k اللَّهُمَّ فَارْحَمْ وَحْدَتِي بَيْنَ يَديْكَ،
the pounding of my heart in dread of You, wa wajeeba qal-bee min khash-yatik وَوَجِيبَ قَلْبِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ
the trembling of my limbs in awe of You! waz''-t'iraaba ar-kaanee min hay-batik وَاضْطِرَابَ أَرْكَانِي مِنْ هَيْبَتِكَ
My sins, My God, have stood me in the station of degradation in Your courtyard faqad aqaamat-nee yaa rab-bi d'unoobee maqaamal-khiz-yi bifinaaa-ik فَقَدْ أَقَامَتْنِي يَا رَبِّ ذُنُوبِي مَقَامَ الْخِزْيِ بِفِنَائِكَ،
If I remain silent, none will speak for me; faan sakat-tu lam yant'iq a'n-neee ah'ad فَإِن سَكَتُّ لَمْ يَنطِقْ عَنِّي أَحَدٌ،
if I seek an intercessor, I am not worthy for intercession. wa in shafaa'-tu falas-tu bih-lish-shafaaa'h وَإِن شَفَعْتُ فَلَسْتُ بِأَهْلِ الشَّفَاعَةِ
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his Household, al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaali muh'am-mad اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
make Your generosity intercede for my offenses, wa shaf-fia' fee khat'aayaaya karamak وَشَفِّعْ فِي خَطَايَايَ كَرَمَكَ
follow up my evil deeds with Your pardon, wa u'd a'laa say-yi-aatee bia'f-wik وَعُدْ عَلَى سَيِّئَاتِي بِعَفْوِكَ
repay me not with the punishment that is my proper repayment, wa laa taj-zinee jazaaa-ee min u'qoobatik وَلا تَجْزِنِي جَزَائِي مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ
spread over me Your graciousness, wab-sut' a'lay-ya t'aw-lak وَابْسُطْ عَلَيَّ طَوْلَكَ
wrap me in Your covering wa jal-lil-nee bisit-rik وَجَلِّلْنِي بِسِتْرِكَ
And do with me what is done by a mighty man, when a lowly slave pleads to him and he shows him mercy, waf-a'l bee fia'-l a'zeezin taz''ar-raa' ilay-hee a'b-dun d'aleelun farah'imah وَافْعَلْ بِي فِعْلَ عَزِيزٍ تَضَرَّعَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدٌ ذَلِيلٌ فَرَحِمَهُ،
or a rich man when a poor slave submits himself and he raises him to wealth! aw ghanee-yin taa'r-raz''a lahoo a'b-dun faqeerun fanaa'shah أَوْ غَنِيٍّ تَعَرَّضَ لَهُ عَبْدٌ فَقِيرٌ فَنَعَشَهُ
O Allah, I have no protector against You, so let Your might be my protector! al-laahum-ma laa khafeera lee mink fal-yakh-fur-nee i'z-zuk اللَّهُمَّ لا خَفِيرَ لِي مِنكَ فَلْيَخْفِرْنِي عِزُّكَ
I have no intercessor with You, so let Your bounty be my intercessor! wlaa shafeea' leee ilay-ka fal-yash-faa' lee faz''-luk وَلا شَفِيعَ لِي إِلَيْكَ فَلْيَشْفَعْ لِي فَضْلُكَ
My offenses have set me quaking, so let Your pardon give me security! wa qad aw-jalat-nee khat'aayaaya fal-yoo-min-nee a'f-wuk وَقَدْ أَوْجَلَتْنِي خَطَايَايَ فَلْيُؤْمِنِّي عَفْوُكَ
Not all that I have said rises up from my ignorance of my evil footsteps famaa kul-lu maa nat'aq-tu bihee a'n- jah-lim-min-nee bisooo-i atharee فَمَا كُلُّ مَا نَطَقْتُ بِهِ عَن جَهْلٍ مِّنِّي بِسُوءِ أثَرِي،
or forgetfulness of my blameworthy acts in the past, wa laa nis-yaanil-limaa sabaqa min d'ameemi fia'-lee وَلا نِسْيَانٍ لِّمَا سَبَقَ مِن ذَمِيمِ فِعْلِي
but in order that Your heaven and those within it wa lkil-litas-maa' samaaaw-uka waman feehaa لَكِن لِّتَسْمَعْ سَمَاؤُكَ وَمَن فِيهَا
And Your earth and those upon it wa ar-z''uka waman a'lay-haa وَأَرْضُكَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا
may hear the remorse which I have professed to You maa az'-har-tu laka minan-nadam مَا أَظْهَرْتُ لَكَ مِنَ النَّدَمِ،
and the repentance through which I have sought asylum with You. wa lajaa-tu ilay-ka feehee minat-taw-bah وَلَجَأْتُ إِلَيْكَ فِيهِ مِنَ التَّوْبَةِ
Then perhaps one of them, through Your mercy, may show mercy upon my evil situation falaa'l-la baa'-z''ahum birah'-matik yar-h'amunee lisooo-i maw-qifee فَلَعَلَّ بَعْضَهُم بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَرْحَمُنِي مِن سُوءِ مَوْقِفِي،
or be seized by tenderness for my evil state. aw tud-rikuhur-riq-qatu a'lay-ya lisooo-i h'aalee أَوْ تُدْرِكُهُ الرِّقَّةُ عَلَيَّ بِسُوءِ حَاِلي،
There may come from him for my sake a supplication to which You give ear more than to my supplication fayanaalanee min-h bidaa'-watin heea as-mau' laday-ka min dua'aa-ee فَيَنَالَنِي مِنْهُ بِدَعْوَةٍ هِيَ أَسْمَعُ لَديْكَ مِن دُعَائِي،
or an intercession surer with You than my intercession

aw shafaaa'tin aw-kadu i'ndaka min shafaaa'tee

أَوْشَفَاعَةٍ أَوْكَدُ عِندَكَ مِن شَفَاعَتِي،
through which I may be delivered from Your wrath takoonu bihaa najaatee min ghaz''abik تَكُونُ بِهَا نَجَاتِي مِنْ غَضَبِكَ،
and attain to Your good pleasure! wa faw-zee biriz''aak وَفَوْزِي بِرِضَاكَ
O Allah, if remorse is a repentance toward You, then I am the most remorseful of the remorseful! al-laahum-ma ee-yakunin-nadamu taw-batan ilay-ka faanaa andamun-naadimeen اللَّهُمَّ إِن يَّكُنِ النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةً إِلَيْكَ فَأَنَا أَندَمُ النَّادِمِينَ
If refraining from disobedience is a turning back to You, then I am the first of those who turn back! wa ee-yakunit-tar-ku limaa'-s'eeatika inaabatan faanaa aw-walul-muneebeen وَإِن يَّكُنِ التَّرْكُ لِمَعْصِيَتِكَ إِنَابَةً فَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُنِيبِينَ
If praying for forgiveness alleviates sins, surely I am one of those who pray for Your forgiveness! wa ee-yak-nilis-tigh-faaru h'it'-t'atal-lild'-d'unoobi fa in-nee  laka minal-mus-tagh-fireen وَإِن يَّكُنِ الإسْتِغْفَارُ حِطَّةً لِّلذُّنُوبِ فَإِنِّي لَكَ مِنَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ
O Allah, as You are commanded repentance and guaranteed acceptance, al-laahum-ma fakamaa amar-ta bit-taw-bati waz''amintal-qabool اللَّهُمَّ فَكَمَا أَمَرْتَ بِالتَّوْبَةِ وَضَمِنتَ الْقَبُولَ
as You are urged supplication, and promised to respond, wa h'athath-ta a'laad-dua'aa-i wa waa't-tal-ijaabah وَحَثَثْتَ عَلىَ الدُّعَاءِ وَوَعَدتَّ الإِجَابَةَ
so also bless Muhammad and his Household, fas'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaali muh'am-mad فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
accept my repentance, and return me not to the returning place of disappointment in Your mercy waq-bal taw-batee wa laa tar-jia'-nee mar-jia'l-khay-bati mir-rah'-matik وَاقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِي وَلا تَرْجِعْنِي مَرْجِعَ الْخَيْبَةِ مِن رَّحْمَتِكَ
Surely, You are Ever-turning toward the sinners, in-naka antat-taw-waabu a'laal-mud'-nibeen إِنَّكَ أَنتَ التَّوَّابُ عَلىَ الْمُذْنِبِينَ،
All-compassionate toward the offenders who turn back! war-rah'eemu lil-khaat'i-eenal-muneebeen وَالرَّحِيمُ لِلْخَاطِئِينَ الْمُنِيبِينَ
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his Household just as You are guided us by him! al-laahum-ma s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaali muh'am-mad kamaa haday-tanaa bih اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا هَديْتَنَا بِهِ
Bless Muhammad and his Household just as You are rescued us through him! wa s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee kamas-tanqad'-tanaa bih وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِهِ كَمَا اسْتَنقَذْتنَا بِهِ
Bless Muhammad and his Household with a blessing that will intercede for us on the Day of Resurrection, the day of neediness toward You! wa s'al-li a'laa muh'am-madiw-wa aaalihee s'alaatan tash-fau' lanaa yaw-mal-qeeaamati wayaw-mal-faaqati ilay-k وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلاَةً تَشْفَعُ لَنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيَوْمَ الْفَاقَةِ إِلَيْكَ
You are powerful over everything, and that is easy for You! in-naka a'laa kul-li shay-in qadeer wa huwa a'lay-ka yaseer إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيٍْء قَدِيرٌ، وَهُوَ عَلَيْكَ يَسِيرٌ
