The Handwritten Copy of the Holy Qur'an Calligraphed by Imam Reza (AS)

The history of the handwritten copy of the Holy Qur'an calligraphed by Imam Reza (AS) is not known but it is considered as a rare antique historical work which was preserved in the royal treasuries. The royal seals present in this copy proves that it was ascribed to be calligraphed by Imam Reza (AS).

It is famous that it was transferred from a royal library in India to Iraq and its last custodian in Iraq was a person by name Sayyid Ali Noori. After his death Allamah Amini, the famous author of Al-Ghadeer in order to preserve this great historical work transferred it to the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) during the custodianship of late Agha Mehran.
It's Features:

1-It consists of 27 folios and 54 pages written in Kufi script on skin. Each page consists of 16 lines.

2- The size of the page is 24 16.5 and the text is written in 18 12.

3- The second page's vowels are in form of red, black and green dots. After its twelfth line Surah Nur commences and on its right side it is written in Arabic "Calligraphed by Ali bin Musa". Below this line it is written in Naskh script that a person by name Bahadur Khan has seen this book and beside this there are five seals with these explanations.

A-It is inscribed in Nastaliq script "Hasan and Husain are the successors of Ali".
B- It is inscribed in Nastaliq script "Al-Sultan Sahibqaran".
C- The third seal not readable.
D- It is inscribed in Thulth script "Huwallah al-Mulk al-Wahed".
E- It is inscribed in Thulth script "Huwallah Ta'ala Sha'nah Akbar".

4- On the top of the ninth folio of the book Ayatullah al-Uzma Milani in the month of Jamadi al-Thani 1379 Hijrah ascertained the authenticity of the this copy to be calligraphed by Imam Reza (AS).

5- This copy was bought during the custodianship of Agha Muhammad Mehran and endowed to the library of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
This unique copy is preserved in the Holy Qur'an Museum of the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).
