In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
1. Qaf; by the Glorious Qur’an,
2. Nay! They wonder that a warner from among their own selves has come to them; so, the disbelievers say: “This is an amazing thing!
3. “What! When we die and become dust (shall we still return?) This is a return far (from the truth).”
4. Indeed We know how much of them the earth reduces, and with Us is a written record that is secure.
5. Nay! They falsified the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition.
6. Have they not looked up to the heavens and seen it adorned? No gaps are therein.
7. And the earth We have spread out, and We have cast therein mountains and caused therein the growth of all beautiful kinds (of vegetation),
8. To serve insight and as a reminder to every servant who turns (to his Lord).
9. We sent down water from the heavens with blessings, and We caused the growth thereby of gardens and grain which is harvested,
10. And the tall palm-trees with fruit-stalks, closely set one above the other,
11. A sustenance for the servants, and We give life thereby to a dead town; thus will be the resurrection.
12. Before them, the people of Noah rejected, and so did the dwellers of ar-Rass, and the people of Thamud.
13. And so did Ad and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot,
14. And the dwellers of the wood, and the people of Tubba; all rejected the messengers; so, My promise (of the doom) proved true.
15. Were We then wearied out with the first creation? Yet they still are in doubt about a new creation.
16. Indeed We created man, and We know whatever thoughts whisper to him within himself, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein.
17. Two (guardian angels) are appointed to scribe, seated, one on his right and one on his left.
18. Man shall not utter a word but what is already written by a trusted watcher.
19. And the stupor of death comes in truth: - “This is what you wished to shun.”
20. The trumpet shall be blown; it is the promised Day.
21. Every soul shall come along with its (angel to) drive, and (an angel to) witness;
22. - “You were heedless of this; (since) now We have removed your veil from you, your sight today is sharp.”
23. And his companion shall say: “This is (his record) ready with me.”
24. - “Cast into Hell every ingrate rebel,
25. “Forbidder of good, transgressor, doubter,
26. “Who set up other gods with God; then cast him, you two, into the severe torment.”
27. His companion will say: “O Lord! I did not lead him to rebellion, but he himself had gone far astray.”
28. He shall say: “Do not wrangle in My presence; indeed I had sent beforehand warnings to you;
29. “The word with Me cannot be changed, nor am I unjust to the servants.”
30. We will ask Hell on that day: “Are you filled up?” and it will answer: “Are there any more?”
31. And the garden (Paradise) shall be set aside, not far, for the pious:
32. - “This is what you have been promised, for every one who turns to God and guards (his limits),
33. “Who fears the Beneficent God in secret and comes (to Him) with a devoted heart;
34. “Enter it in peace; this is the Day of eternity.”
35. For them therein shall be whatever they desire, and with Us is yet even more.
36. How many a generation did We destroy before them who were mightier than them in power? They wandered throughout the land; was there any place of refuge for them?
37. Verily in this is a reminder for him who has a heart or listens with a mindful presence.
38. Indeed We created the heavens and the earth and what is between them twain in six periods and no fatigue ever touched Us.
39. So be patient (O Muhammad) about what they say, and celebrate the praise of your Lord before sunrise and before sunset.
40. And during the night, glorify Him, and after the prostrations.
41. And listen for the day whereon the crier shall cry from a near place,
42. The Day when they hear the cry in truth is the Day of coming forth (from the graves).
43. Verily We give life and cause death, and all shall return to Us.
44. On the Day when the earth is cleft asunder under them, they will hasten; their gathering together is easy for Us.
45. We best know what they say, and you are not to compel them; therefore, remind through the (medium of the) Qur’an whoever fears My threat.
