The Overwhelming Event (al-Ghashiyah) -88

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
1. Have you come to know of the tidings of the overwhelming event?
2. (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast,
3. Toiling, weary,
4. Entering into the blazing Fire,
5. Made to drink from a spring (fiercely) boiling;
6. For them there shall be no food except bitter thorny fruit,
7. Which will neither fatten nor satisfy;
8. (Other) faces on that Day shall be happy,
9. With their past efforts well-pleased,
10. In a grand garden.
11. They shall hear no vain talk therein.
12. Therein is a flowing spring,
13. Therein are exalted couches,
14. And goblets readily placed,
15. And cushions set in rows,
16. And carpets spread forth.
17. Can they not see how the camels are created?
18. And how the sky is raised?
19. And the mountains are set up?
20. And the earth is spread out?
21. So keep reminding them; you are only a reminder.
22. You are not compeller over them.
23. Except whosoever turns back and disbelieves,
24. Then God will chastise him with the greatest chastisement.
25. Verily to Us is their return.
26. Then verily We shall reckon with them.
