In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
1. Those who disbelieved from among the people of the Book and the polytheists could not have separated themselves (from falsehood) till the clear evidence came to them,
2. A Messenger from God reciting to them the Purified Scripture (Qur’an),
3. Wherein are decrees correct and forceful,
4. Nor were those people of the Book divided except after the clear evidence came to them.
5. Yet nothing was enjoined on them except that they should worship only God in perfect sincerity, truth in faith, and that they should pay zakat: that is the correct (and straight) religion.
6. Verily those who disbelieve from among the people of the Book and the polytheists shall be in the fire of Hell to abide therein forever. It is they who are the worst of creation.
7. Verily those who believe and do good deeds are the ones who are the best of creation.
8. Their recompense with their Lord shall be everlasting gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein forever. God is well-pleased with them and they with Him; that is for him who fears his Lord.
