In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
1. Alif, Lam, Mim.
2. A revelation of a Book (Qur’an) with no doubt therein from the Lord of the worlds.
3. Or do they say: “He has forged it”? Nay! It is the truth from your Lord that you may warn thereby a people to whom no warner before you came, haply they may be guided aright.
4. God it is Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days, and firmly established on His Throne (Authority); for you there is none besides Him as the guardian, nor any intercessor; will you not then reflect?
5. He regulates the affairs from the heaven to the earth, then it shall ascend to Him on a day whose measure is (like) a thousand years of what you reckon.
6. Such is the Knower of the hidden and the manifest, the all-Mighty, the all-Merciful.
7. It is He Who created and began the creation of man from clay.
8. Then He made his progeny out of an extract of despised liquid water.
9. Then He shaped him and breathed into him of His Spirit and made ears for you, and eyes, and hearts; little do you give thanks.
10. They said: “When we become lost in the earth, shall we, even then, still return in a new creation?” Nay! They even disbelieve in meeting their Lord.
11. Say: “The angel of death, put in charge of you, shall take your life away, then to your Lord you shall be brought back.
12. Could you but see how the guilty ones droop their heads before their Lord: “Lord! We have seen and heard; so send us back to do good deeds; verily we now truly believe.”
13. Had it pleased Us, We would certainly have granted every soul its guidance, but true is the word which went forth from Me: “I shall certainly fill Hell with the jinn and man together;
14. “So taste (the recompense), for you had forsaken the meeting of this day of yours; verily We too forsake you today, and taste the perpetual chastisement for what you were doing.”
15. Verily, only those who, when reminded of Our signs, fall down prostrating in obeisance and celebrate the praise of their Lord, are the ones who believe therein, and they do not exalt themselves with pride.
16. Their sides forsake their beds, praying to their Lord in fear and in hope, and they spend benevolently of what We provide them with.
17. No (righteous) soul knows what is hidden for it of the joy of the eyes, as recompense for what it was doing.
18. Is he then who is a believer like unto him that who is a transgressor? They shall never be held akin.
19. As for those who believe and do good deeds, for them are the gardens of bliss, their heavenly abode, an entertainment for what they were doing.
20. As for those who transgress, their abode shall be Hell- fire; whenever they desire to get out of it, they shall be brought back into it, and it shall be said to them: “Taste the chastisement of the fire in which you used to disbelieve.”
21. We shall certainly make them taste of the minimum chastisement instead of the maximum one, so that they may haply return (penitent).
22. Who is more unjust than he who, when reminded of the signs of his Lord, turns away therefrom? Verily, We shall exact retribution from the guilty ones.
23. Indeed We bestowed the Book upon Moses; so, do not be in doubt of receiving this from Him, and We made it (Torah) a guidance to the children of Israel.
24. And We made some of them leaders (Imams) guiding by Our command, steadfast, and they were quite certain of Our signs.
25. Verily your Lord will Himself decide between them on the Day of Judgment concerning what they were disputing therein.
26. Does it not guide them rightly to see how many generations We destroyed? They walk (now) in (the ruins of) their abodes; verily in this are signs; will they not then listen?
27. Do they not see how We drive water to a parched earth and bring forth therewith crops of which the cattle and they themselves eat? Will they not then behold?
28. They say: “When will this judgment take place, if you are truthful?”
29. Say: “On the Day of Judgment, the belief then of those who used to disbelieve will not avail them, nor will they be respited.”
30. So turn away from them and wait, verily they too are waiting.
