In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
1. Whatever is in the heavens and the earth hallows the glory of God; His is the Kingdom, and to Him is all praise due, and He (alone) has power over all things.
2. He it is Who created you, then (some) of you are disbelievers, while others believe, and God sees all what you do.
3. He created the heavens and the earth with truth and fashioned you and made your forms good, and unto Him is the ultimate return.
4. He knows everything in the heavens and the earth, and He knows whatever you conceal and reveal; God knows all what the hearts contain.
5. Has not the story of those who disbelieved before come to you? They tasted the evil consequences of their own deeds, and for them there is a painful torment in store.
6. It is so because their messengers came to them with clear proofs, but they said: “Shall (mortal) men guide us?” So they disbelieved, turning away. God can do without them; He is self- Sufficient, Most Praised.
7. Those who disbelieve think that they shall never be resurrected. Say: “Aye! By my Lord, you shall certainly be raised, then you shall certainly be informed of what you did; that, for God, is surely easy.”
8. So believe in God and His Messenger and the Light which We have sent, and God is well-Aware of all what you do.
9. The Day when He gathers you for the Day of Gathering is surely a day of mutual loss. Whosoever believes in God and does good deeds, He will wipe out his sins and admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein forever; that is the great achievement.
10. As for those who disbelieved and falsified Our signs, they are the fellows of the Fire to abide therein, and wretched is the destination.
11. No affliction afflicts any save by the leave of God; whosoever believes in God, He shall guide his heart, and God well-knows all things.
12. Obey God and obey the Messenger. If you turn away, then only the clear delivery (of Our message) is incumbent upon Our Messenger.
13. God! There is no god but He; upon God (alone) should the believers rely.
14. O you who believe! Verily of your wives and children (are some who are) an enemy to you; wherefore beware of them, and if you forgive, overlook and cover up (their faults), then verily God is oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
15. Your possessions and offspring are surely a trial, and verily with God is a great recompense.
16. So fear God as much as you can; listen (to His Word) and obey, and spend (in His Way); that is better for your own souls. Whosoever is saved from the greed of his own self is the successful one.
17. If you lend God a goodly loan, He will double it to you and forgive you, and God is Most Appreciative, Most Forbearing,
18. Knower of the unseen and the seen, the ever-Prevalent, the all-Wise.
