In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
1. When the sky cleaves asunder,
2. And the stars disperse,
3. And the seas burst forth,
4. And the graves are overturned;
5. Every soul shall know then what it has sent forth and left behind.
6. O man! What has beguiled you from your Lord, the Most Gracious?
7. Who created you and fashioned you and justly proportioned you?
8. In whatever form He pleases, He casts you.
9. Nay! But you reject the reckoning,
10. While verily watchers are posted over you,
11. Recorders honourable,
12. They comprehend whatever you do,
13. Verily the righteous shall be amidst blissful bounties,
14. And verily the wicked shall be in the flaming Fire,
15. They shall be committed to it on the Day of Judgment.
16. Nor will they themselves be absent therefrom,
17. And what will make you know what the Day of Judgment shall be?
18. Then what makes you know what the Day of Judgment is?
19. It is the Day on which each soul shall own nothing (helpful) for another, and the Supreme Command shall that Day be God’s (alone).
