The prophet Abraham (A.S) was one hundred and twelve years and according to another report one hundred and twenty years. His respected wife Hazrat Sarah was ninety seven years. They did not have any children. Allah sent to them an Angel to inform them that they would be gifted with a son. "And his wife was standing (by), so she laughed, then we gave her the good news of Isaac and after Isaac of (a son's son) Jacob."
"She said: O wonder! Shall I bear a son when I am an extremely old woman and this my husband an extremely old man? Most surely this is a wonderful thing."
"They said: Do you wonder at Allah's bidding? The Mercy of Allah and His blessings are on you, O People of the house, surely He is Praised, Glorious."
(11: 71-73)
In brief, the Mercy of Allah blessed the prophet Abraham (A.S) and Hazrat Sarah with a son, Isaac, at an age when it could never have been expected.
